Blogging Chiropractors Are Tomorrow’s Successful Chiropractors

I have to be honest with you. I have resisted blogging and social media for as long as I could, coming up with all the excuses….I don’t have time, I don’t have the know how, I don’t want to have to keep up with it………., but as you can see I am now blogging away and involved Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Why?
Well, thanks mostly to my good friend Dr. Patrick MacNamara. This Chiropractor has an incredible heart to help other chiropractors, but besides that, he is a genius at all this “internet stuff” as I call it. And because of his persistence and example he has educated me to what blogging and social media can and are doing for businesses of all types. Funny thing is though, while millions of businesses are utilizing these tools to acquire business and grow, only 1% of the chiropractors are actually doing so. Why do I say that is funny? Because the chiropractic song has always been, “I need to get the chiropractic story out there to the people, if they just knew what chiropractic can do I would get new patients”, and now we have the means to actually do so without having to spend tens of thousands of marketing dollars to make it happen and most of us are setting around doing nothing because we don’t know about it, don’t feel we are equipped to do it, or we are just flat out afraid to do it.
I see what is happening in the market. External marketing that has worked beautifully for chiropractors for years is becoming less and less effective and in some cases completely disappearing. I see the tide turning and it is turning fast. As usual when a tide like this in business marketing turns, the ones in on the ground level benefit the most. Remember I said that only 1% of chiropractors are utilizing this type of marketing right now, you will never have a better chance to be in on ground level if you start now.
My knowledge about this media is limited, but growing everyday. You might be amazed, by looking at my blog sight, to know that it has been less than a month since I decided to contact Dr. MacNamara about starting a blog. And when I say that my knowledge was limited when I started, that is an understatement; I didn’t even have a Facebook account or know how to set one up! You may not either, don’t let that stop you; if I can do it, you can do it! I am very proud of my site, and I owe it all to Dr. MacNamara, his expertise has me looking like I know a whole lot more than I actually do!!
Let me say this, unless you have thousands of dollars and thousands of hours to spend learning all this, then don’t, get a professional who has the knowledge and passion for it to do it for you. Dr. Mac and his resources can make you and your site look top notch. Not only will you look professional, you will feel professional every time you open your blog. If you really want to know more about how blogging and social media can make and impact on your practice please check out Dr. Mac’s blog at http://www.nextgenerationchiropractor.com where you will find all the information you will need to get educated and to start your process no matter where you are on the learning curve at the moment.
If you are already fairly up to speed and are really interested, then it is time for you to get going. Go to http://www.developingothers.com and you can be up an blogging in no time. You will be in on the ground floor, and will be able communicate with and get new patients while many in the profession will be struggling to get them and wondering why their chiropractic marketing suddenly quit working. I feel when this marketing wave hits, it is going to hit in a hurry. Now is the time to get out in front of it.
Let me say this in closing. You may have other ways to get your blog set up and running, that’s fine, but why not use someone who knows chiropractic, knows chiropractic marketing, and has a burning passion for you to be successful in this endeavor, not someone who is just there to set up a site and collect your money? If you are going to do this, and you really need to, then make sure it looks professional and your have everything working in your favor. Til next time.

No matter how far I get around the learning curve, Dr. Mac is way out in front on his knowledge and how to not only set these systems up, but make them productive. Appreciate your comments.
