Save the Chiropractic Profession Part 2

Thank you to all who have supported the campaign to try to stop the CCE from changing the definitions of an entire profession. It is greatly appreciated by me and future chiropractors that would like to practice chiropractic. Our office received the greatest email from one of our clients in regards to this subject and I have received approval from her to share it with you. I don’t think it could be said any better than this.
Is this a hoax? The CCE wants to QUIT chiropractic and
be a medical board of some sort? Our professions are separate and distinct!
I’m staying put thank you. If I had wanted to be a medical doctor, I’d
have become one. Medicine didn’t save my father’s disc herniation
or my daughter’s allergies and chronic otitis media or the irritable bowel
that the medicine gave her. Chiropractic did fix these problems and changed our lives!
This week our office saw what chiropractic could do that medicine could NOT do.
Medicine didn’t help Will the first 16 years of his life that he wet the bed every night.
He wouldn’t go on hunting trips with cousins and friends, until chiropractic
let him wake up when his bladder wanted to empty. He’s doing so well now that he’s going hunting this weekend!
Susanne was taking ibuprofen every night for two years because of migraines and she couldn’t stop
even though she’s pregnant. Because of chiropractic, now she’s drug free for the last half of her pregnancy!
A three year old who quit trying to talk after he fell from a kitchen cupboard onto his head last year….was NOT helped
by the ER. They said he had a mild concussion and that his sudden lack of speech and active play was unrelated. His parents didn’t think of finding out if a chiropractor could help until 2 months ago. Now chiropractic care has him running and playing, talking and giggling with his big brothers again!
A man who has limped for 5 years after a stroke, started to get back pain that kept him awake and needing to sit up at night. He’s already on aspirin and other meds, so the medical doctor said to just use a heating pad for the pain. Naturally this did not help. Chiropractic care has allowed him to sleep in bed all night now!
Rhia was a very hyperactive, irritable, fussy eater, bed wetter, unhappy 5 year old who’s parents kept her out of kindergarten this year because they just couldn’t see how she could participate. They tried chiropractic as a last resort. Now she’s a well adjusted, big-girl-pants wearing, happy child. This report is hot off the adjusting table! She and her mother are beaming!
I need to get back to work now, or I’d tell you more….but…
I did, on Monday, refer a young lady to her medical doctor for blood work and further evaluation because she had malaise and swollen lymph nodes EVERYWHERE! Once they figure out what’s going on, they may or may not be able to help her. I’m glad to have medical peers who do their job properly. BUT I’m way more excited about being able to do MY job properly. MEDICINE DOESN’T DO WHAT I DO!
I may only be one person, but I made a difference to about 90 families this week. And I do NOT want to go MEDICAL!
OUR JOBS ARE SEPARATE AND DISTINCT. No changes please!
Sincerely,
Donna Kost, DC
This comes from a chiropractor successfully practicing chiropractic. Not a chiropractor looking to make a buck utilizing another system from another profession. It is not about expanding our scope of practice, but learning how to successfully practice the principles of chiropractic.
Thank you Dr. Kost for you have said volumes with your email.
Separate and Distinct, Separate and Distinct, Separate and Distinct!!!!
